Team Captain: Dan "The Kid" Visentin
Captain's Message:
Men, and that’s what you are, men. No, you are more than men you are the Toronto Scottish RFC. Being a man is something that you are born as, or maybe you go through some ceremony and they call you a man (Dumpy), but to be part of the Scottish you have to be chosen. And all of you, even Binky and Mason, were chosen to be on this team.
This season we are not facing another group of men. We are facing the top rugby clubs in our province. They are everything that you are not: where you are good, they are evil, where you are men, they are boys, where you are smart (kind of), they are dumb, where you have treatable STDs, they aren’t so lucky. Which brings me to another point, after each match, whether we win or lose: go ugly earlier, never leave your wingman, and if she’s lower than your standards – lower your standards.
We are in a great position to bring the Scottish back to the promise land. The Scottish has not been in the Marshall Division since 1992. But that was then and this is now. This is your chance to carve out a legacy as some of the greatest players this club has ever seen. Our game plan is defend, finesse, and score. If we win we are all heroes.
Let’s make this season memorable, Win for the Club, Win for Kiwi, Win for Shea Brass, Win for your mothers, your sisters, your brothers. But most of all, win it for ourselves!
