Minis Information
2007 was the first official year for the Toronto Scottish Mini Program. We had approximately 25 boys registered and we ran an Under 8’s and Under 10s teams. The Mini Scottish entered teams in 6 tournaments from May to September. While official stats were not compiled, both teams won more games than they lost. All the boys had an excellent time and really enjoyed themselves, as did the parents.
In 2008, The Mini Scottish are planning to run a Under 8s & Under 10s flag rugby team and a Under 12s tackle team. We are going to practice this week 6:15pm at Bennington Heights Elementary School. Take Bayview Ave. south to the Loblaws, keep going straight onto Bayview Heights (don't follow Bayview to the left), keep following Bayview Heights to Bennington Heights, turn left.
There is a grassy area on the left hand side and we will practice there. See you there. For those who haven't paid yet, please bring a cheque made out to the Toronto Scottish RFC.
There are some extra games being planned in addition to the tournaments, info to follow.
For those interested, there are the Monday night practices with the Saracens, This is being run by the Saracens (I help coach) at their field at Cameron Public School, 211 Cameron Ave (4 blocks south of Sheppard west of Yonge St) 6:30pm. The U8 & U10s play 6:30-7:30pm as do the U12 & U14s, then the 12 & 14s have tackling practice (if you wish to participate) for 1/2 an hour.
